… and Gulls On Ice

When we stepped outside, I saw gulls sitting on the nearby reflecting pool, which struck me as a strangely summery scene for February in Washington. It took me a while to realize that they were not floating on the water, but standing on it.

At first I changed to a longer lens, for this “ice-skating gull”
